Police Units
Administration
This unit is headed by SSP admin who is assisted by SP headquarters and DSP headquarter. This unit supervises all the administrative and financial matters of the Quetta police. SP headquarters supervises the police line headquarters which provide human and logistical support to the Quetta police.
Operations
The operational wing is dedicated to maintaining public safety, combating crimes, and responding swiftly to incidents. This unit is equipped to handle various security challenges, employing advanced strategies and technologies to prevent and address criminal activities. Their commitment to proactive policing ensures a robust and responsive approach to safeguarding the community and upholding justice in Quetta. Under the leadership of the SSP Operations, the operational wing of Quetta Police is strategically divided into four divisions, each overseen by a Superintendent of Police (SP). Within these divisions, there are nine circles, each led by an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) or a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). The district encompasses a total of 31 police stations, including specialized stations such as the Women's Police Station and the Sui Southern Gas Company Police Station.
Serious Crime Investigation Wing
In a recent initiative launched in 2023, this modern unit focuses on investigating serious crimes. Led by a Senior Superintendent (SSP) with support from two SPs and two DSPs. The unit utilizes advanced technological solutions such as geofencing, call detail record (CDR) analysis, facial recognition software, digital forensics tools for effective crime investigation.

This unit comprises the following specialized units:
  • Anti-Vehicle Lifting Unit
  • Armed Robbery Unit
  • Kidnapping for Ransom Unit
  • Gender-Based Violence Unit
  • Homicide Unit
  • IT Section
  • Crime Scene Unit
Investigation
The primary objective of this unit is to conduct thorough investigations of crimes. This unit focuses on gathering evidence, producing criminals in court, and ensuring justice through meticulous investigative procedures. Utilizing modern forensic technologies, including ballistics analysis, serological testing, CDR analysis, CCTV footage analysis, and document forensics, they enhance their ability to solve criminal cases effectively. Under the command of the SSP Investigation, the investigation wing of Quetta Police is organized into four divisions, each overseen by an SP Investigation. These divisions are further divided into nine circles, each led by a Sub-Divisional Investigation Officer. Additionally, Station Investigation Officers provide support at the police station level within each circle.
Traffic Police
It is headed by the Senior Superintendent of Police Traffic, tasked with maintaining the smooth flow of traffic and providing comprehensive traffic-related services for the citizens of Quetta.

Functions of the Traffic Police include:
  • Enforcing traffic laws and regulations to ensure road safety.
  • Managing and controlling traffic flow at intersections and congested areas.
  • Providing assistance during road accidents and emergencies.
  • Conducting regular inspections and issuing fines for traffic violations to promote compliance with traffic rules.

To modernize and enhance its operations, several initiatives have been implemented:
  • Deployment of new vehicles and young staff, including female personnel, for patrolling and traffic duties.
  • Launch of a Mobile Application to facilitate the general public with traffic updates and services.
  • Conducting traffic awareness campaigns through volunteers, social media platforms, and distribution of pamphlets.
  • Introduction of a new uniform for the Traffic Police of Quetta to improve visibility and professionalism.
  • Inauguration of FM Radio Pakistan dedicated to traffic awareness and updates.

The Traffic Police of Quetta plays a vital role in enhancing public safety and ensuring efficient transportation across the city.
Security Division
Given the security challenges in Quetta, the Security Division collaborates closely with other police units to ensure comprehensive security for public events, safeguard sensitive installations, provide personal security for important figures, and secure routes during the movement of VVIPs/VIPs. This unit, supervised by SSP Security and assisted by SP Security, also oversees the implementation of security protocols at critical infrastructure sites and coordinates emergency response efforts during security incidents.
Campus Peace Corps (CPC) Unit
The Campus Peace Corps (CPC), established on 17th March 2001 and headed by SP (Commandant CPC), plays a crucial role in maintaining the law and order situation at universities and colleges in Quetta. This specialized unit comprises 257 personnel dedicated to ensuring security within educational institutions. A dedicated Police Station Campus supports their operations.

The roles of CPC include:
  • Ensuring law and order within the premises of the Universities and colleges of Balochistan.
  • Providing security for various events, programs, functions, and exams held within campuses.
  • Securing visits of VIPs and handling any protests or mob situations that may arise.
  • Conducting regular patrolling to maintain a safe environment on campus and respond swiftly to any security challenges.
CPC plays a vital role in fostering a secure educational environment conducive to learning and development.
Sub-Units
1. Anti-Riot Unit: Law and order pose significant challenges in Quetta, especially concerning the security of the Red Zone and the management of daily protests. Commanded by a DSP-ranked officer, this specialized unit comprises 397 well-equipped and trained personnel, including 60 female officers, stationed permanently at Police Lines Quetta. To address these challenges, the first Women's Anti-Riot Unit was established on April 13, 2023, to enhance response capabilities and ensure effective management of public demonstrations and disturbances.

2. Eagle Squad: This unit patrols the areas of respective police stations on state-of-the-art motorbikes, specifically designed for enhanced mobility in urban settings. Their primary objective is to effectively curb street crime. Led by a Superintendent of Police, the Eagle Squad consists of well-trained teams operating round the clock to patrol and ensure safety in their designated areas.

3. Madadgar-15: This quick response force promptly responds to the calls from the police helpline (15), aiming to reach crime scenes in the shortest possible time. It is supervised by an officer of the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP) and is supported by an ample fleet of vehicles and trained personnel.

4. Mounted Police: The establishment of this unit began on March 30, 2023. This unit will be assigned the responsibility of patrolling public places such as parks and tourist spots where mobility of vehicles may be limited. Led by a Superintendent of Police (SP), the Mounted Police unit will have trained personnel to ensure public safety in areas where traditional patrolling methods are less effective.
